Bern, Hugh, Brian and some of our children during a Lenten conversation about embodiment and celtic spirituality.

We are men and women, mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, grandparents, children, friends, teachers, guidance counselors, professors, doctors, clergy, artists, film critics, students, musicians, community organizers, CPE supervisors— married, divorced, single and committed. We are employed, unemployed and somewhere in between. We are all ages and colors. We are concerned about social justice issues like homelessness, the death penalty, racism, education, classism, hunger, poverty, and abuse of all kinds. Some of us have lived in North Carolina for years. Some for only a few months.

Brian teaches some of our children about mandalas during story-ing about Hildegard Von Bingen.

We are creative, imaginative and committed to digging deeply into the meaning of life and what we might hope to be and experience as part of the mystery of God in community.

  1. Hello there,

My name is Judson Hurd and I am a pianist/composer. I would love to come play at your service sometime. I live in Greensboro and I play solo piano. I enjoy giving small intimate concerts and a chance to meet new people. Also I would label myself as a spiritual progressive person as well and I am with you on the issues of racism and social justice.
Looking forward to hear from you.

    Musically Yours,

    Judson Hurd

  2. Why I haven’t I heard about you all ’till now? This is just what I’m looking for.

    I’ll be seeing you…

  3. This sounds very wonderful. How did you get started? Where did you get funded? Are you backed by any particular organization? I am starting something like this here in Phoenix and would love to hear any wisdom you have gain through your process.
    Peace
    amanda
