A Spirit collective, as we defined it, is a new way of gathering in community. Some may call it a new way of being and doing church in the world. Some may call it a part of the emergent movement. Some may just called it a whole lot of fun.
The vision behind the “Spirit collective” is a collaboration of diverse organizations and peoples in Raleigh in a way that is positively transformative to ourselves and to the city. We hope to partner with local non-profits, artists, musicians, food coops, storytellers, poets, social activists and community organizers. One of our first partnerships in the Spirit collective is with Love Wins – a ministry of presence to homeless people in Raleigh, founded by Hugh Hollowell.
We meet in the historic Hope Elementary Charter school building where there are lots of opportunities for creative/social justice-y collaborations throughout Raleigh. Love Wins and the Raleigh Mennonite church also meet @ Hope Elementary school. If you are interested in learning more the Spirit collective please email Mary: mary@trinitys-place.org.
